Bikes and Scooters on Transit

Each of our buses is equipped with a front-mounted bike rack that holds two bicycles.

The racks will accommodate two-wheeled bicycles with a wheel size of 16 inches or larger, with the exception of tandem and recumbent bikes.

Battery-powered bicycles (e-bikes) are permitted on bike racks as long as they fit securely.

Remember that you are responsible for your bike. The bus operator is not permitted to help you load or unload your bike.

Keep these simple steps in mind when using a bus-mounted bike rack:

 Stand by your bike at the bus stop so the operator knows you intend to board

 Tell the bus operator you'll be loading your bike

 Remove loose items from your bike such as water bottles, pumps, and bags

 Load and unload your bike from the curb or in front of the bus

 Raise and secure the support arm over the top of the tire

 As your approach your stop, remind the operator that you'll be unloading your bike

You are responsibile for your bike. The operator is not permitted to help you load or unload your bike

When access a busway stop, walk your bike to the station. Riding a bike on the busway is prohibited.

Up to two bicycles are permitted on light-rail vehicles at a time.

Riders may load/unload their bicycles at high platform stations only.

Bicycles must be stowed in the designated wheelchair spaces.

Individuals with disabilities always have priority over bicycles.

Be sure to hold onto your bike securely while on the vehicle and keep it clear of aisles and doorways.

Bicycles must be walked when accessing stations.

As of September 1, 2021, battery-powered bicycles or e-bikes ARE PERMITTED inside light rail vehicles.

Monongahela Incline – One bike is permitted at a time, and must be stowed in the upper level of the incline car.

Effective September 1, 2021, electric bicycles ARE PERMITTED on the Monongahela Incline.

Duquesne Incline - Two bikes are permitted at all times.
