On New Year's Eve, Sunday, December 31, multiple bus routes will detour in downtown Pittsburgh for Highmark/Pittsburgh Cultural Trust First Night Pittsburgh 2024 events.

Most detours will begin around 10 a.m. with additional detours beginning at 4 p.m. All detours will last through the end of service. Affected routes, detour start times, and temporary stop changes are posted below. 

Please look closely as some detours will temporarily change from around 8/9 p.m. for the New Year's Eve Parade before returning to their original detour routing through the end of service.

Riders should allow for extra time when traveling on detoured bus routes.

Bus and light rail service on New Year's Eve will operate on Sunday schedules. The Downtown Service Center will be closed and Customer Service will be available from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Please note that while we are trying to have employees available to provide a few extra trips for First Night, riders should follow scheduled service as additional trips cannot be guaranteed.

On New Year's Day, January 1, bus service will operate on Sunday schedules. Light rail service will operate on a special holiday schedule that can be found here. The Blue Line will not be in operation.

All service will resume regular weekday schedules on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.
